It was really a great pregnancy. I had the usual, first trimester nausea and heartburn but otherwise all was great! We were so excited to be having our first baby! At 18 weeks we found out it was a girl and I was seeing pink for weeks after that! Was counting the weeks till our February 9th due date!
At 24 weeks exactly I had spotting- had it checked and found out my water had broke 2 days before. They
admitted me to the hospital and had me on bedrest till delivery.
A few days into bedrest I started to feel contractions. They gave me meds the first time to "stop" them but the second time we tried the meds I was not so lucky. I was having regular contractions every 3-4 minutes but nothing was showing on the monitor. Well... at 2120 I had a really strong contraction, I shot up out of bed. The nurse checked me for the first time since I had been in the hospital and low and behold, I was already 9 cm dilated! The baby was comming tonight, now!! After 5-6 pushes it was over.
On October 22,2009 at 2156 Emma Nichole Garza made her grand enterance into the world- 4 months early. At 1 lb 6 oz and 12 inches long she has a lot of growing to do!!
